The Beginning: The Lost Tape and the Search
Set in 1997, the story starts with Vidya, a doctor, who decides to call off her arranged marriage and marry her childhood love, Vicky, a mehendi artist. The couple's honeymoon in Goa sets the stage for their problems when they decide to record their first night together. After their return, the couple watches the tape on their CD player, only to fall asleep. In the middle of the night, their house is robbed, and the sex tape is taken along with other valuables. Vicky, however, lies to Vidya, saying he had removed the disc before sleeping.
The Investigation
Inspector Laadle's Incompetence As the investigation begins, Inspector Laadle arrives to solve the crime but becomes more distracted by his infatuation with Vicky's sister, Chanda. This distraction leads to frequent confusion and awkward moments with the family’s maid, also named Chanda. Meanwhile, Vicky attempts to find the missing disc by visiting shady dealers and eventually traces it to a local flea market. However, the tape is nowhere to be found, and Vidya's suspicion of Vicky deepens as he avoids discussing the tape. The Search Intensifies: Family Confusion and More Lies As the plot thickens, Vicky learns that the family's ancestral sword, which was also stolen during the burglary, has been traced back to a tourist from Zimbabwe. She reveals that she bought it from the flea market, leading Vicky to meet the shady character, Chaabiwale Chacha, who eventually reveals the identity of the burglar, Badshah. Meanwhile, Vidya continues to believe that Vicky is hiding something from her, especially when she follows him and spots him with the tourist. The Climax: A Series of Mishaps and Surprises Vicky tracks down the comatose Badshah but finds the tape missing. After a series of chaotic events, Vicky ends up in jail, where he finally confesses the truth to Vidya. Desperate to make amends, Vicky attempts suicide but is saved by Vidya, leading to their reconciliation. However, the confusion doesn't end there as Vicky and Vidya discover that a local godwoman and her henchmen are behind the theft of the tape. The couple must then navigate a series of increasingly absurd situations, including blackmail, misunderstandings, and a strange funeral procession involving Badshah. The Grand Finale: A Twist and a Sequel Tease The chaotic climax culminates in a dramatic showdown at a graveyard, where multiple parties converge to recover the stolen tape. Amid the confusion, the tape is retrieved, but it turns out to be a different recording from their wedding night, not the one they were searching for. As the mystery unravels, it is revealed that the tape was part of a larger scheme involving a corrupt local leader.
